Alex from Junior Masterchef happily bringing his blend of cheeky humour to the local community
St Ives Shopping Village will welcome Alex Gearing, one of the top 12 contestants on Junior Masterchef, to their Tastes of the Village three-day food exhibition next month.
Between 10th and 12th December the centre will host food demonstrations based around the theme of Festive Family Favourites and Alex will appear on Sunday 12th December between 11 and 2pm to take visitors through his famous Le Gout de la Mer that caused a sensation with the Masterchef judges and propelled him into the top 20.
Alex, who would like to be a TV presenter and chef when he grows up, is excited to be presenting at St Ives and share his passion and thoughts about food, fresh ingredients and cooking.
“I love cooking and I’d love to work in TV when I’m older so being in front of a live audience at St Ives with the microphone on will be lots of fun,” he says.
So keen is Alex to take part in the Tastes of the Village event, he will be flying back especially from a Top 12 reunion being held in Brisbane that weekend.
Sue McKindlay, Marketing Manager for St Ives Shopping Village is thrilled to have Alex as part of their festive season food event.
“We’re very proud of the quality of the food and gourmet sessions that we regularly host at St Ives Village but it is certainly very exciting to have one of the young culinary talents from the hugely successful series joining us for our annual Christmas Tastes of the Village.”
“I’m certain that Alex will be very popular with our local community, young and old. The young chefs on Junior Masterchef are such an inspiration and have such a positive attitude. He really represents very well the St Ives community family attitude.”
Alex will be presenting at the taste and try event at St Ives Village between 11am and 2pm on Sunday, 12th December in the Market Room. As well as presenting his famous dish, Alex will be discussing several other recipes, chatting to the audience and will be available for photos and autographs.
The newly released Junior Masterchef official recipe collection will also be available for sale for Alex to add his own personal message.
